• Maintenance: Street lights are broken, drains are blocked, fences or public parks are damaged, as well as water problems in areas where traders sell.
• Animal Control: Wild animals roam and stray dogs.
• Damage to Public Facilities & Property: Damage to public toilets, missing or damaged signage, vandalism.
How do I make a complaint to the Telupid District Council?
Members of the public can submit complaints through the following channels:
• Telupid District Council Counter.
• Official telephone line which can be referred to on the official website of Telupid District Council.
• Through the official letter or email of the Telupid District Council.
I would like to hold a programme or ceremony using the Telupid District Council's facilities. What are the procedures to follow?
The use of public facilities such as Multipurpose Halls, Squares, or Padang is subject to the following procedures:
1. Applicants can come to the Telupid District Council counter or contact the Telupid District Council using the official line to check the vacancy date.
2. The applicant must make an official letter and make payment of the prescribed fees and deposits.
3. An official approval letter must be obtained before the program or ceremony is conducted.
4. Applications must be made one week in advance.
5. The applicant is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety and avoiding any damage to public property.
What action will be taken if public facilities are used without permission?
Any use of public facilities without written approval from Telupid District Council may be imposed:
• Compound (fine).
• The program or event is ordered to be stopped by the MDTel Enforcement Officer.
This action is taken in line with the by-laws currently in force.
HAWKER'S LICENSE
Who needs to apply for a Hawker's License?
All individuals who carry out food or goods business activities either statically or moving in public areas are required to apply for a Hawker License. This includes hawkers who do business at roadside stalls or at fixed sites such as sellers of vegetables, fruits, clothing and others.
What are the main rules set by Telupid District Council for hawkers?
The Telupid District Council sets several main rules that hawkers must abide by, including:
• Authorized business location.
• The size and layout of the stalls.
• Business hours.
• Level of cleanliness and waste management.
• Food handling certificate and health card for traders who wish to sell food and beverages.
Failure to comply with the set rules may result in enforcement action being taken.
What is the validity period of the Hawker's License and how is the renewal process?
Hawker's License needs to be renewed annually. Renewal can be made by paying the fee at the Telupid District Council Counter according to the type of business and approved location.
OPERATING LICENSE
Who needs to apply for an Operating License (Trading License) from the Telupid District Council?
All individuals or companies doing business at permanent premises within the administrative area of Telupid District Council must apply for a valid Operating License (Trading License). Applicants must also ensure that the premises or business building is ready for use before applying.
When should an Operating License be applied?
An Application for an Operating License must be made before commencing any business activities. Businesses without a license are not allowed and may be subject to enforcement action.
What is the validity period of the Telupid District Council Operating License?
The Operating License is valid for a period of one (1) year and must be renewed annually before the expiry date.
MYKIOSK
What is the purpose of MyKiosk?
MyKiosk was created to help local traders, especially Telupid traders who want to run a small business as a source of income in the business sector.
Are traders obliged to use the kiosks provided by the Telupid District Council?
Yes, all traders who do business on public sites under the supervision of the Telupid District Council are required to use the kiosks or stalls provided by the Telupid District Council. This is to ensure that uniformity, safety, and established levels of hygiene are adhered to.
Can traders choose kiosk site lots according to vacancy?
The selection of kiosk lots depends on the vacancy and approval of the Telupid District Council. Traders can express their preferences but the Telupid District Council has the right to place traders in suitable lots to ensure orderly site management, safety and public facilities are maintained.
DOOR TAX
What is a door tax?
Gate Tax is a tax imposed on the owners and occupants of proportionate holdings located within the jurisdiction of a Council.
Who is the door taxpayer?
Owners of any property within the Telupid District Council area including houses, buildings or service stations are required to pay Door Tax. For example, the owners of buildings or quarters such as the SEDCO, LPPB, SESB and Taman Telupid Villa areas are responsible for paying the tax.
When is the door tax due?
The door tax is to be paid once a year only.
